Julia Wurth (b. 1973, Hamburg, Germany) is a multidisciplinary designer, project manager, and art educator who has divided her time between Hamburg and The Gambia since 2017. Raised by a professional artist and well-known graphic designer, Wurth grew up immersed in the world of color and form, developing her creative practice early on under her mother’s loving yet rigorous guidance.

Following her formal education, Wurth studied Textile Management and Design with the team of renowned fashion designer Jil Sander. She later expanded her expertise by earning professional certifications in project and process management, transitioning into the international development sector. For years, she worked across Africa managing water and solar energy infrastructure projects for major corporations, NGOs, and government institutions, successfully implementing initiatives for organizations such as the UNHCR, the Red Cross, and UNICEF. Throughout her travels, art remained an essential companion, with her sketchbooks and field notes later evolving into larger canvas works that have been successfully sold to private collectors.

Currently based in Hamburg while recovering from a serious illness, Wurth is preparing for her imminent return to The Gambia. She is also completing her advanced credentials as a certified art therapist, passionate about using the creative process as a tool for healing and self-discovery. In Germany, she regularly organizes exhibitions featuring African contemporary artists, alongside hosting creative workshops to empower young, emerging talents.

As the Marketing & Event Manager for ART27 – Visual Arts Promotion, Wurth leads strategic member relations, gallery collaborations, exhibition logistics, and sponsorship acquisition. Driven by her core philosophy that "artists need to be supported, respected, and seen," her vision is to elevate the platform to a higher national and international level by forging powerful partnerships with global associations, international galleries, corporate sponsors, and dedicated art collectors.
