Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Christina Persson has been passionate about drawing and creative expression since childhood. While she refined her skills through various specialized evening courses and a focused art program, she is for the most part a dedicated self-taught artist.

Persson has been a certified art educator since 2013, running highly successful classes in both Sweden and The Gambia. Her multifaceted career also includes illustrating children's books for a Swedish publisher since 2014. Between 2019 and 2023, she expanded her international reach by hosting dynamic online workshops that connected her with a worldwide audience.

Her personal journey is profoundly interwoven with her art. After her first inspiring visit to The Gambia in 2012, she chose to relocate there permanently in 2016. Traveling extensively throughout West Africa has provided her with immense creative inspiration, shaping her distinctive, vibrant, and often humorous artistic style that beautifully depicts local wildlife, people, and the natural environment.
