Edrisa Jobe was born in 1965 in Basse Town, located in the Upper River Region of The Gambia. He attended St. George's Primary and Secondary School, graduating in 1985.

Deeply inspired by local cultural programs, traditional activities, and the vibrant environment surrounding him, Jobe channeled his passion into the arts in 1987. He began his artistic journey as a self-taught practitioner, initially mastering sketches with pencil and chalk before expanding his repertoire into dynamic acrylic painting.

Jobe is the founder and owner of the Pool Gallery in Bakau, The Gambia, situated directly opposite the historic Kachikally Crocodile Pool. Throughout his established career, his work has been widely recognized, and he has participated in numerous prominent art exhibitions both within The Gambia and internationally.
