Omar Corr was born in The Gambia in 1985. He discovered his passion for art at the early age of 12, when his drawings and paintings began catching the attention of neighbors, friends, and teachers, providing him with great encouragement to pursue his talent.
Corr attended the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) in Banjul, where he earned a Diploma in Architectural Draughtsmanship. This technical background brings a unique structural depth to his creative work.
He currently works as a full-time artist at the studio of Mr. Baboucarr Faal, an environment that exposed him to advanced techniques in canvas painting and pictorial batik.
Corr works across a variety of media, focusing primarily on two-dimensional art. His portfolio spans both realism and abstract forms, masterfully executed in acrylic and oil on canvas. As a dedicated and hardworking contemporary artist, Corr also uses his art for philanthropy, having successfully sold numerous paintings to raise $700 in support of foundation projects.
